Albert Pike (December 29, 1809–April 2, 1891) was an attorney, Confederate officer, writer, and Freemason. In 1871 he published 'Morals and Dogma' in which he revealed the Masonic secret that the star that appears so prominently in Freemasonic Halls and temples is in fact the Dog Star Sirius.
